Debbie Westervelt, Director
Debbie Westervelt joined the Maricom Management team in December 2010.
Ms. Westervelt is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with over thirty years of healthcare IT and over 25 years of health IT management experience with a proven track record of leading professionals to satisfy customer needs and achieve success. As a subject matter expert in the healthcare industry, particularly from a payer perspective, Debbie is well versed in topics such as Medicare and commercial policy, claims processing, fraud and abuse detection, etc., and healthcare reform.
Debbie joins Maricom after serving as Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) in the Government Solutions Group at ViPS® (a General Dynamics IT Company), accountable for setting the direction and leading the PMO, CMMI, and Earned Value Management functions. Debbie was also lead for the VIPS ICD-10 solutions, which included research and development, product design and development, and marketing and sales. In this dual role, Debbie was responsible for project success in both the commercial and the government sectors.
Debbie earned an MBA and JD from the University of Baltimore and is licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland. As an industry expert in ICD-10, she was interviewed and quoted in the March 29, 2010 For The Record article, ICD-10 Timetable – Where Do You Stand, by Lindsey Getz.
